Meet Ms. Allie
Ms. Allie is a teacher children never forget. She is the founder and director of Champion Academy Learning. She currently calls Bronxville, New York home, but her love of teaching started in Manhattan where she lived and taught for over a decade. Ms. Allie is a licensed New York State literacy specialist and childhood special education teacher. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Inclusive Education and a Masters in Literacy Education from New York University.
As a parent, Ms. Allie believes in treating each one of her students and their families, as if they are her own. She goes above and beyond to form a rapport with her students that in turn creates an engaging, safe space for learning.
Ms. Allie’s experience teaching in public, private and parochial schools has allowed her to share her knowledge of the education system with the families she works with. She specializes in literacy education from birth through sixth grade but her experience lends itself to a range of diverse ages, needs and learning styles. Her background expands classroom teaching to special education administrative work for New York City public schools and curriculum development for former Chancellor of schools, Carmen Farina. Ms. Allie has worked as a learning center instructor, a classroom teacher, curriculum developer and an Individualized Education Plan liaison in New York City Public Schools. In addition to over a decade of classroom teaching experience, Allie has tutored children individually from ages 3 to high school. Ms. Allie welcomes children from a wide range of ages, subjects and backgrounds to Champion Academy Learning.
“I am passionate about tutoring because I love watching children learn. There is nothing more rewarding as a teacher, than seeing a student become empowered and confident from receiving the individualized instruction that they deserve.
Tutoring provides a unique opportunity to work with a child and get to know them holistically. Working with a student one on one, without any outside distractions, allows me to deliver targeted instruction in a way that is not always possible in a typical classroom setting. I love hearing about a student transferring what they learned into their classroom studies. There is nothing more gratifying than watching a child come into their own.”
